Resident · 2008–2013, 2015–now
Scott Weaver
Scott Weaver has been at The Good Foot! longer than anyone who is not Dennis. He was at the very first one in 1998, pulled in by a flier cut in the shape of a 45 with James Brown on it — and he had already been DJing for a decade by then.
That started at eighteen, with a weekly night in a shuttered bar in Fullerton, in the room that would later become the Continental Club. It was an all-night goth night. It was also entirely illegal, and it got shut down a few months in. No records were damaged in the altercation.
He worked his way into the night from the side: first helping Dennis promote it, then guesting on the decks, then — his own description — serving as “like Spock on Star Trek”. He became a resident in 2008 and held it through to 2013, when Que Sera closed. He rejoined the roster in 2015, after the night had moved to Alex’s Bar.
Elsewhere he has held down a residency at Costa Mesa’s Kitsch Bar and played in 00-Soul (Double O Soul), an Afro-Cuban funk ensemble.
